- Semen sample produced and dropped off at laboratory (following correct guidelines for semen collection)
- Semen decontamination process is performed by “washing” the semen using a special method to remove the virus form the sperm.
- A small amount of the washed sperm is now sent for PCR testing, to confirm if the sperm is safe to use.
- The balance of the sperm is cryopreserved, to be used later if the PCR result is clear.
