Our Doctors

Dr. Pillay

Dr. Pillay is a specialist Gynaecologist and Sub-specialist in Reproductive medicine and Endocrine. He has been a Obstetrician Gynaecologist for 11 years, and he is registered with the Health Professional Council and the College of Medicine of South Africa as a reproductive medicine sub-specialist.

Dr. van Tonder

Dr. Wynand E. van Tonder is a Sub-Specialist Reproductive Medicine and Specialist Obstetrician Gynaecologist specialising in reproductive medicine and endoscopic surgery at Sandton Mediclinic, Bryanston, Johannesburg. After training as a primary physician, and feeling a deep need to help childless couples fulfill their dreams and prayers to be parents, Dr. van Tonder pursued further training in all aspects of obstetrical and gynaecological medicine. He knew that his comprehensive knowledge and training as a specialist would help patients seeking his medical advice on their journey to parenthood.

Dr. Matlhaga

Dr. GO Mathlaga is a specialist Gynaecologist and Obstetrician Sub-Specialist Reproductive Medicine based on the Mulbarton Hospital and Life Springs Parkland Hospital. He is a Director of HOPE CLINIC based at Sandton Mediclinic specialising in fertility and endometriosis.

Mr. Prashan Maharaj

Mr. Prashan Maharaj is the Laboratory Director at the Hope Fertility Clinic and oversees all aspects and procedures of the IVF laboratory.

He completed his BSc. in Physiology and Microbiology in 2005 at the University of KwaZulu Natal and followed that up with a National Diploma and bachelor’s degree in clinical technology, specialising in Reproductive Biology, from the Durban University of Technology in 2008 and 2010 respectively. In 2020 he completed his master’s degree in the Biotechnology of Human Assisted Reproduction and Embryology, from the University of Valencia.

He has a numerous years of experience in assisted reproduction and embryology and has received his training from the Steve Biko Academic Hospital through international and local experts in the field.

Prashans’ background and passion, in the field of embryology, motivates him to strive for better outcomes in assisted reproduction.
